The Dance Hall

Continuing down the street toward the east, the site of the old dance hall can be seen in the field behind the store. One night the following was collected at the door in admission charges:

  • One bushel of corn
  • A powder horn
  • One peck of Carrots
  • Two squash
  • Three quarts of popcorn
  • Six bushels of potatoes
  • Some cord wood
  • Two dozen eggs and the hen that laid them
