This compilation is an effort by Kathryn Haman, sister, to preserve his memory. Most of what I write is in italics. I summoned the help of friends and family to help wherever possible. They have my thanks.

I feel that nothing I could do would be good enough to honor him...... except maybe the effort itself.

Why the book?

I could learn to bear the loss for myself, but for me, the hardest part about John being gone is not getting to "share" him anymore with others who are important to me.

I think that's "why the book....."

I want others to know about John and how important he was to all of us and what a profound influence he had on all of our lives.

His nieces and nephews were so important to him and although there should be many more to come, I'd like to dedicate this effort to:

Benjamin and Dallan Barnhurst
and
Ashley Evans

These three family members have arrived since John's passing and could very well know him.....but in case they forgot.
